登山や山岳滑走の愛好者には、まだシーズンは続くと思います。そして積雪があるということは、雪崩の季節も継続しています。1990/91から2012/13までの23年間において、4月から6月の3ヶ月で22件の雪崩による死亡事故が発生しています。寒気を持った低気圧による降雪直後の雪崩、濡れて重く破壊力のある全層雪崩や雪庇の落ち残りによるブロック雪崩などが主なものです。
　　　
まとまった降雨や十分な昇温で融解水が多量に発生した後は、たとえ夜間に氷点下となっても、積雪内では融解が継続しています。言い換えれば、まとまった降雨等があれば、早朝に全層雪崩が発生しても不思議ではありません。ハイシーズンと同様に、雪崩地形を見極め、行動原則を大事にしたグループマネジメントがとても重要です。では、安全に残りのシーズンを楽しまれてください。

The snow season still continues for backcountry enthusiasts. So long as there is snow, the avalanche season also continues. In the last 23 years from 1990/91 to 2012/13 there were 23 avalanche death in the 3 months from April to June. Avalanches included those immediately following new snowfall during Low Pressure cells with cold air. Also full depth avalanches which are wet and heavy and are very destructive, and avalanches as a result of failing cornices.

After heavy rain or periods of intense melt due to high temperatures, even if the surface freezes overnight, deeper in the snowpack the melting continues.
　　
It is important to always pay attention to avalanche terrain and apply thoughtful group management and apply good travel habits. These basics are just as important as in high season. With that, please enjoy the remainder of the snow season in safety.
